FuturePlus Systems products are Category 9 products as defined by Annex IA of Directive 2002/96/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 January 2003 on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). This document is widely known as the “WEEE Directive” and is intended to guide legislation in each of the individual countries of the European Union on the disposal of electronic products.

FuturePlus Systems products are measurement tools intended and designed for commercial and research laboratories and are NOT intended for private households.

To comply with the WEEE Directive, FuturePlus Systems is labeling product documentation packages, and where the size of the product allows, the products themselves, with the “wheelie symbol” shown below, as defined in Annex IV of the WEEE Directive. This is being done to all products that may be purchased for use in an EU country.

RoHS Directive

As stated above, FuturePlus Systems products are Category 9 as defined in the WEEE Directive. Based on Article 2.1 of the Directive 2002/95/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 January 2003 on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, widely known as the “RoHS Directive”, Category 9 products do not have to comply with this directive.

As a point of information FuturePlus Systems products are electronic assemblies composed of components, such as printed circuit board fabrications that may have leaded solder surface finishes, and are processed with solders that may contain lead. It is estimated that the % by weight of lead in any product is not greater than 5%.
