Summary
- FS3100 32- or 64-bit VME/VXI Analysis Probe
Passive State Analysis
The FS3100 VME/VXI Analysis Probe provides an electrical and mechanical
interface to Agilent logic analyzers for passive VME or VXI bus state
analysis in B-size or C-size systems. In State Analysis
mode, the bus disassembler software executes in the Agilent logic
analyzer and decodes the key VME/VXIbus signals. A readable display
is presented that lists the transaction type, address, data and address
modifiers. The software also supports user-defined symbols that can
be easily added to the state listing display. To assist with triggering,
pre-defined resource terms have been included. Pod clocking logic
decodes the VME64/VXI commands and delivers the Master/Slave clocks
to the logic analyzer.
Timing Analysis
The FS3100 provides passive VME or VXI bus timing analysis in
B-size or C-size systems. In Timing Analysis mode, the analyzer generates
the clock and allows the user to make accurate signal timing measurements.
Note: The passive logic analyzer termination presents a single electrical
load on the bus via low capacitance (10 pf), high impedance terminators,
and also provides a matched impedance to the logic analyzer.
Extender Card Functionality
The FS3100 acts as an extender card to extend your
32- or 64-bit VME or VXI B-sizecard. Both sides of your card are available
for probing with a timing analyzer or oscilloscope probe. In addition,
LED's are included that provide a quick indication of power supplies
being applied to the extender card connector.
Cross-domain Analysis
Cross-domain
analysis with multiple analyzers allows engineers to use
the FS3100 with other FuturePlus Systems Analysis Probes to observe
both busses simultaneously. You simply set the FS3100 analyzer to
trigger on an VME or VXI bus event, and when this event occurs, the
VME analyzer will trigger the other analyzer probe to display what
is happening at that moment on the other bus.
