Specifications - FS2229 AGP3.0 (8X) Analysis Probe

1) The FS2229 provides an electrical and mechanical interface from the AGP connector to Agilent logic analyzers for bus analysis.

2) The FS2229 provides software to set up the Agilent logic analyzer and to allow powerful real time protocol analysis of the AGP transactions.

With the FS2229, designers can use their Agilent logic analyzer as a passive AGP3.0 (8X) protocol analyzer. The FuturePlus Transaction Inverse Assembler, coupled with the advanced triggering and system performance software of Agilent's logic analyzers, give the user a powerful tool in debugging, testing, and verifying compliance of PC's and workstations incorporating the AGP3.0 graphics system.

The FS2229 plugs into an FS1010 Target System Probing Adapter, which solders to the bottom side of the AGP 1.5V connector. Four ribbonized coax cables attach the signals to the FS2229. Specially selected series resistors are used to isolate the analysis probe from the AGP.

With the AGP3.0 transferring data at 532 MT/s, the minimum data valid window required by the probe is 400 ps. The FS2229 can monitor the AGP3.0 only when using 0.8V signaling. The AGP has 32 bits of Address/Data, 4 bits of Command/Byte Enables, 8 bits of sideband data, and 16 bits of control (1X clock). The strobed signals are valid on both edges. The strobe frequency is 266 MHz in 8X mode. The 1X clock frequency is 66 MHz.
