Features - FS2010 PCI-X Bus Passive Analysis Probe Technical Details Acts as an PCI-X extender card, extending the PCI-X card under test
to provide access for additional probing. Provides an electrical and mechanical interface to Agilent logic analyzers for passive PCI-X bus analysis. PCI-X protocol decode software executes in the logic analyzer. In State Analysis mode, the analyzer master clock is the PCI-X clock. The bus protocol decode software decodes the key PCI-X bus signals and presents a readable display that lists the transaction type, address, data and key status conditions such as wait states and retries. The software also supports user-defined symbols that can be easily added to the state listing display. To assist with triggering, pre-defined resource terms have been included that can be used to prevent WAIT and IDLE states from being acquired, thus saving trace memory and providing an easier-to-read state display. Interface Compatability - 32 or 64 bit PCI-X Local bus universal connector pinout. All PCI-X bus ground pins of the universal board pinout are connected to the ground plane of the FS2010 module. Card Edge Extender Connector - The FS2010 extender card connector is a 3.3V, 64 bit connector that accepts either 3.3V or universal 32- or 64-bit, long or short card form factor. All of the signals from the PCI-X bus are routed to the card edge extender connector. JTAG Boundary Scan - The FS2010 does not implement JTAG Boundary SCAN. Pins TDI and TDO (pins 4a and 4b on the PCI-X local bus) are not connected to the logic analyzer but are connected to the extender card connector as are all the PCI-X local bus signals. Standards Supported - The PCI-X Local Bus Specification Revision 1.0 Power Requirements - The FS2010 Analysis Probe does not contain active components and requires no power from the logic analyzer. The PCI-X add-in card installed in the FS2010 can draw power from the +/-12 V, 3.3 V and the 5 V pins of the target as if it were installed without the FS2010 Software Only Available - If you are designing a custom PCI-X bus and wish to provide your own hardware connection, you can purchase a single user software license for your logic analyzer. You can then probe your target system using Termination Adapters. An application note is available in the FS2010 Library area that discusses how to do this. Optional PCI software support available- The software that is included in the FS2010 supports a PCI-X bus. If you wish to use the FS2010 hardware on a PCI bus, you can order a single user PCI software license for your logic analyzer. See Ordering Info for details. Cross-Domain Analysis- Are you analyzing data from multiple buses? Simply use this analysis probe to monitor the PCI-X bus, and then use another FuturePlus Systems analysis probe to monitor your other bus. We have analysis probes for many other buses, including the ISA, PMC, USB, 1394, VME, VXI, DIMM and SIMM buses. You can create your own custom measurement system, cross-domain trigger between buses, and view data from multiple buses simultaneously in the same display. Logic Analyzer Required - see System Requirements link to your left Number of Probes Used - The FS2010 Analysis Probe uses 4 pods for 32 bit analysis and 6 for 64 bit analysis. Minimum Clock Frequency (State) - 0 to 133 MHz Operations - All PCI-X Local Bus operations supported by the hardware and the protocol decode software. Environmental Temperature - Operating:0 to 55 degrees C (+32 to +131 degrees F); Non operating:-40 to +75 degrees C (-40 to +167 degrees F) Altitude - Operating: 4,6000m (15,000 ft); Non operating: 15,3000m (50,000 ft) Humidity - Up to 90% non condensing. Avoid sudden, extreme temperature changes which would cause condensation on the FS2010 module.
