Q. What software is included with the FS4415 Serial Rapid IO Protocol Preprocessor?

A. Files are included that automatically set up the Tektronix logic analyzer for protocol disassembly mode and label all the signal names. Another file contains the protocol disassembler, which translates the data into Serial Rapid IO protocol during state analysis. Also included is the Transaction Viewer, which gives you a higher level view of bus traffic. Finally, the Probe Manager software is included. This allows you to change and store various pattern recognizers and filter settings in the FS4415 via a USB interface.

Q. What target cable adapters does the FS4415 include to connect to my target system?

A. Because there are several different ways that customers may need to connect to their system, we do not include any target cable adapters with the FS4415. You must choose at least one target cable adapter with your FS4415 order. Click here to see the various target cable adapters available.

Q. Can I use standard Tektronix probe cables to connect the FS4415 to my Tektronix logic analyzer?

A. No. You will need to use the FuturePlus FS1055 TLA Adapter Cable to connect the FS4415 to your Tektronix logic analyzer.

Q. Does your preprocessor get its power from my system?

A. No. All necessary power is supplied by an external supply.

Q. What do the LED's on the FS4415 signify?

A. These are Quad-state LEDs. Green indicates the link is OK. Orange indicates invalid or unaligned data. Red indicates a receiver fault. Dark indicates a loss of signal.

Q. How many packets does the FS4415 take to establish a link after turning on the power supply of the target board?

A.This depends on several factors, including the use of an external 200 ppm or less Ref. Clock, and the transition density of the link training activity. It should be less than 800 bit times.

Q. How can I set the FS4415 to trigger on the link establishment to the target board?

A. If you know what Control character the links are using for training then you can set the Probe Manager and Logic analyzer to trigger on that Control Character.
