Accurate Protocol and Timing Analysis
The DDR3 Detective™, when used with one of it's companion interposers, brings bus signals to the DDR3 Detective controller via controlled impedance cables for an easy protocol violation analysis connection while maintaining signal fidelity.  The bus signals are then analyzed for protocol violations and the results displayed on the user interface. A trigger output can be used to trigger an oscilloscope or logic analyzer for further investigation.

DIMMs supported
The DIMM interposers support a 240-pin, 1.5 volt 64-bit, Unbuffered (UDIMM) or Registered (RDIMM)Synchronous Double Date Rate (DDR) DRAM Dual In-Line Memory Module (DDR SDRAM DIMM). Clock rates up to 933 MHz (1867 MT/s) DIMM's are supported by the standard product.

SO-DIMMs supported
The SO-DIMM interposers support a 204-pin, 667 MHz clock (1600 MT/s data rate), 1.5 volt 64-bit, Unbuffered Synchronous Double Date Rate (DDR) DRAM Small Outline Dual In-Line Memory Module (DDR SDRAM SO-DIMM).

BGA SDRAM's supported
The FS2425 BGA Interposer  supports a 1.5 V. X4, X8 or X16 64-bit, Synchronous Double Date Rate (DDR) DRAM (DDR SDRAM). Clock rates up to 933 MHz (1867 MT/s) are supported by the standard product.

Interposers
Note: Electrically, the DDR3 Detective DIMM and SO-DIMM interposers extend the DDR3 bus approximately 1.0 inch in etch length. FuturePlus has carefully simulated and designed the interposers to work in your system. Factors that can have a significant effect on the performance of the whole DDR3 system include the type of memory controller, the target layout, the type of DIMM or SO-DIMM used, and which DIMM or SO-DIMM socket is being probed. All users are given 30 days to qualify the DDR3 Detective in their system.

The BGA SDRAM interposer connects between the SDRAM BGA package and the motherboard. The DDR3 Detective  and FS2425 BGA cable adapter, connected to the x4/x8 or x16 BGA Interposer, provide an electrically and mechanically non-intrusive connection to all signals used by the DDR3 Detective (address, command, and control) and DDR3 DRAMs. The FS2425 BGA cable adapter is designed for  both  the x4/x8 or x16 BGA Interposers. The BGA Interposers work with all solder finishes. They are designed to tolerate lead-free soldering temperature profiles.
